VETERINARY PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy is a science based profession specialising in the assessment and treatment of muscle/ligament/tendon injuries, orthopaedic (joint) disease/surgeries, neurological conditions and general maintainance of athletic ability.

The principles of physiotherapy are to:

  • Improve/maintain function and mobility
  • Reduce pain and swelling
  • Facilitate movement
  • Improve muscle balance/strength & stability
  • Enhance performance

ACPAT Chartered Physiotherapists are human physiotherapists who have chosen to continue with further study within the veterinary field. They are fully insured and regulated, work closley with other professionals including vets, saddlers, dentists and farriers, and always work with a veterinary referral (as required by the Veterinary Act 1962 and 1966).
